Sailing in a luxurious environment with Patrizia Volpato

Navigare nel lusso con Patrizia Volpato

The H6308 Oceania Vista ship, launched in 2023, is one of the most luxurious cruise ships in the Oceania Cruises fleet. In every corner, you can breathe a sophisticated and refined atmosphere, where design meets art, thanks to prestigious collaborations such as the one with Patrizia Volpato, renowned for the manufacturing of high-end lighting items.

In this context, Patrizia Volpato has played a fundamental role in the creation of light installations that not only decorate, but define the true identity of the different environments. The union between high-quality craftsmanship and advanced technological solutions enabled to create items that respond to the functional needs of the ship, without sacrificing elegance and beauty.

A journey through light: spaces made by Patrizia Volpato

Patrizia Volpato's contribution on board the Oceania Vista is not limited to simple lighting, but embraces a broader concept of design, where each light element is manufactured so as to perfectly integrate with the surrounding environment. Every area of the ship illuminated by Patrizia Volpato is an example of craftsmanship and innovative solutions.

Gran Bar: The Geometric Elegance of Murano Glass

One of Patrizia Volpato’s most iconic installations on board the Oceania Vista is in the Gran Bar, for this space the company has manufactured a stunning composition of hexagonal cubes in smoked Murano glass. Each individual cube was made by hand, with meticulous attention to details, reflecting the high-quality craftsmanship that characterizes the brand.

The uniqueness of this project is the complexity of the hexagonal shape, something that is complex to achieve with glass. To overcome this challenge, Patrizia Volpato’s artisans created tailored iron molds, until they obtained the perfect shape. In addition, the installation had to respect precise space limitations: the ceiling did not allow for wide encumbrances, so the cubes were inserted by cleverly exploiting the false ceiling.

The result is a work that illuminates the environment with lightness and refinement, creating games of light and reflections that enhance the elegant atmosphere of the Gran Bar, offering passengers an unparalleled visual experience.

Steak House: the purity of full glass spheres

Another extraordinary contribution by Patrizia Volpato is found in the Steak House, one of the most exclusive restaurants on the ship. Here, the expert hands of Patrizia Volpato's artisans provided the lighting items for the entire environment, with a particular focus on the full glass spheres, made to be perfectly transparent, without the slightest imperfection or air bubble inside.

This precision and attention to detail were essential to ensure impeccable aesthetics in a space where every design element is studied to integrate harmoniously. The spheres delicately illuminate the environment, creating an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for a high-class restaurant.

Reception and Concierge: innovation and lightness with the EOS collection

The Reception and Concierge areas of the Oceania Vista have been enriched thanks to two pieces from the EOS collection by Patrizia Volpato, which have been specially adapted for the naval installation. A key aspect of this project was the innovation in the use of materials: instead of traditional glass, Patrizia Volpato chose to use a very high-quality plexiglass, capable of replicating the brilliance and transparency of glass, but with the advantage of being considerably lighter.

This material has made it possible to create large-sized chandeliers, reducing the overall weight and facilitating installation in an environment where lightness is crucial. The result is a scenographic lighting, which maintains the typical elegance of Patrizia Volpato products, but with greater flexibility.

Asian Restaurant and Decorative Lighting

In the Asian Restaurant, Patrizia Volpato has created a truly unique installation that does not simply provide light, yet instead it becomes a real decorative element. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with a sculpture composed of hundreds of blown glass discs, stacked and fixed on golden tubes. This extraordinary work of mural art is lit from both below and above, creating a stunning visual effect that enhances the refinement of the environment.

The installation perfectly reflects the Asian theme of the restaurant, with a touch of modernity and luxury that characterizes every project signed by Patrizia Volpato. In addition to this mural work, the company also provided the floor lamps and wall lamps for this space: all custom-made items to maintain the stylistic harmony of the space.

Bar and Tea Room Area: Elegance and Tailor-Made Design

Another notable space on board the Oceania Vista is the Bar and Tea Room Area, where passengers can relax while listening to live music. In this area, Patrizia Volpato has developed a series of hammered glass table lamps, with linen lampshades, which add a touch of rustic and natural elegance to the environment.

A particularly innovative installation is represented by the metal chains and light panels fixed to the sofas, which have been created with a shape reminiscent of bracelets. This solution is not only functional, but adds a unique design element, which integrates perfectly with the relaxed and sophisticated style of the lounge area. These creations, developed in collaboration with a design studio, will soon also be available in the Patrizia Volpato catalogue, offering the possibility of bringing a touch of the luxury items of Oceania Vista into modern homes.

Finally, Patrizia Volpato took care of the lighting of the Murano glass ceilings, using over 400 pieces of glass, each individually illuminated from the inside thanks to a fiber optic system. This installation, created following the precise instructions of the ship's architect, required great attention and precision in the positioning of the pieces, demonstrating once again Patrizia Volpato's ability to create complex, custom-made works.

Oceania Allura: the luxury crossing continues with Patrizia Volpato

Patrizia Volpato’s commitment to the world of naval design does not stop with the Oceania Vista. The brand is currently engaged in the creation of light installations for the Vista’s twin, the Oceania Allura, scheduled for launch in 2025. The Oceania Allura will also be built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa and will represent a continuation of the excellence in terms of high-quality design and craftsmanship.

The innovative solutions developed for the Oceania Vista will be replicated and further refined on board the Allura, once again confirming Patrizia Volpato as a key partner for luxury naval projects. The ship will maintain the same standard of elegance and modernity, with some new additional elements that will make the travel experience even more unique for passengers.

The signature of Patrizia Volpato

Patrizia Volpato's intervention on board the Oceania Vista H6308 represents a perfect example of how lighting design can transform a space, not only to respond to functional needs, but also to create an emotional experience. The lighting installations made by Volpato are not simple lamps, but real works of art that define the identity of the environments in which they are located.
Each project required a combination of traditional craftsmanship and innovative solutions, demonstrating how Patrizia Volpato is able to adapt its products to the specific needs of such a complex and dynamic environment like happens to be a cruise ship.                                                                                              Thanks to collaborations such as the one with Fincantieri, which built the ship in its shipyards in Genoa, and an approach that combines tradition and innovation, Patrizia Volpato continues to stand out as one of the most prestigious brands in the luxury lighting sector. The Oceania Vista, with its spaces illuminated by Volpato lighting items, represents the pinnacle of maritime luxury, offering passengers not only a cruise ship journey, but an experience of unprecedented design and comfort.
